“Dear diary, did you hear?” the award-winning Heathers The Musical will launch its touring production at Leeds Grand Theatre? The incredible production arrives in Yorkshire from Thursday 5th to Saturday 14th August 2021 before heading out on tour across the UK and Ireland!
Produced by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills and directed by acclaimed American screen and stage director Andy Fickman, this high-octane, black comedy, rock musical is based on one of the greatest cult teen films of all time. I’ve never seen the film but perhaps I should as it stars the incredible Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
The show tells the story of Westerberg High’s Veronica Sawyer (played by Rebecca Wickes). She is just another nobody dreaming of a better day, but when she joins the beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity may finally come true. Mysterious teen rebel JD (Simon Gordon) teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it is murder being a somebody.
I’m so excited to be seeing the show when it comes to Leeds – it’ll be the first non-socially distanced musical I’ve seen in a very long time so it’s sure to be a good’un. Head to the Leeds Heritage Theatres website to grab your tickets.
