A fun new family musical comes to Leeds Playhouse this half term, as Daisy Ann Fletcher and Lucy Rafton star in The Not So Ugly Sisters. The show has been produced by Wrongsemble, Leeds Playhouse and Red Ladder Theatre Company.
It’ll take a sideways look at the story of Cinderella. Dolly rests on her broom counting the passers-by outside the salon window, while her sister Barb watches the phone that never rings. It’s the morning of Cindy and Prince Smarming’s big royal wedding – but Dolly and Barb are not invited. Hell hath no fury like a hairdresser scorned!
Both actresses have a fab range of acting experiences, so they’re bound to be incredibly talented and able to connect with younger audiences.
Elvi Piper, Artistic Director of Wrongsemble, said: “We’re so delighted to be finally able to fully realise this production of The Not So Ugly Sisters and share it with the families of Leeds as part of Leeds Playhouse’s incredible season of work to welcome back audiences. We hope you’ll be dancing in your seats – at a safe distance!”
The creative team includes: Designer Anthony Jones (designer and maker at Wrongsemble); Claire-Marie Seddon (Musical Director / Composer); Dan McGlade (Sound Design and Production); Chemeana Lacey (Creative Producer).
Perfect for younger audiences, The Not So Ugly Sisters comes to Leeds Playhouse from 2nd – 5th June.
