The Victoria Theatre Halifax has announced plans to welcome back theatregoers on Friday 28th May with an exciting programme of Spaced Out Comedy events.
The events will initially operate with safety measures in place and socially distanced seating. It’s a great way to reassure audiences and make everyone feel safe. To put your mind at rest even more, the theatre has also achieved a Visit Britain ‘We’re Good to Go’ and UK Theatres ‘See it Safely’ kitemark.
The first event will see Dick & Liddy’s Comedy Club returns. It normally runs in the theatre’s Green Room Bar but it will now take place in the main auditorium to allow for more people to attend in a socially distanced way of course!
Tony Vino returns as MC of the Spaced Out Comedy events on 25th June and 30th July. He’ll be joined by some of the finest comedians currently on the comedy circuit. Over the next few months these include musical comedian Duncan Oakley and French Comedian Marcel Lucont, appearing on Thursday 3 June, Justin Moorhouse, as seen on Phoenix Nights and Live at the Apollo, along with Tez Ilyas on Thursday 10 June, and unique voice in British comedy Geoff Norcott and former (double award-winning) Time Out Comedian of the Year Paul Tonkinson on Thursday 24 June.
Britain’s Got Talent Mandy Muden and hilarious stand-up comedian Hal Cruttenden will be bringing the hilarity on Thursday 8 July, and stand-up comedian, radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist Tom Wrigglesworth will be joined by acclaimed character comedian Simon Brodkin, most famous for comedy character Lee Nelson, on Thursday 22 July.
Star of stage and screen Tony Slattery is returning on Saturday 5 June with his unique take on a variety show to a wider audience. If you watched Whose Line Is It Anyway back in the day, this one’s for you!
Multi award winning comedian Tom Binns (aka Ivan Brackenbury) performs as The ‘Psychic’ Comedium on Saturday 12 June. In his performances Tom clearly makes jaw dropping revelations about his audience but is he gifted or is he deluded? Certainly sounds like an interesting show.
