I was lucky enough to see the Grease tour back in 2019 and can’t wait to see it again next year. It’s a grittier, sassier version than the original film portrays as leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year.
The main difference between the two versions are its fresh young cast who bring energy, vitality and passion to their roles. The production is directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Arlene Phillips. They bring something different to the musical, which first opened in 1971.
This new version of Grease still includes all the very best hits including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want. It’s an award-winning musical, afterall, with amazing stars such as Peter Gallagher, Richard Gere, Patrick Swayze and John Travolta all starring in the show.
The 1978 film adaptation starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is the fourth highest-grossing live-action musical of all time and celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. Why not celebrate by booking your tickets to next year’s show?
