Will Merlin be magical?

Two exclusive performances of the magical new ballet, Merlin, will be performed at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford this October.

The ballet is being choreographed by Olivier award-winning Drew McOnie, who has previously choreographed Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Merlin tells the story of a famous sorcerer as he discovers how to master his magic to unite a warring kingdom.

It will be performed to an original score by Grant Olding (One Man Two Guvnors, National Theatre), played live at every performance by Northern Ballet Sinfonia. In perhaps more exciting news, Chris Fisher, International Illusions and Magic Associate on Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, has been appointed as Illusionist for Merlin. So it’s sure to be spectacular.

I’ve never seen a ballet performance before, but this certainly seems to be right up my street. I can’t wait!

Don’t miss Northern Ballet’s Merlin at the Alhambra Theatre on 16th and 17th October 2020. Find out more about the show here.
