The award-winning French film and stage sensation, Le Prènom, by Matthew Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière has been adapted and directed by Jeremy Sams. Introducing… What’s In A Name?
Since its launch in 2019, both the production and its cast has achieved critical acclaim. The show stars The Inbetweeners‘ Joe Thomas, Miranda‘s Bo Poraj, Louise Marwood and Alex Gaumond.
The show captures an awkward dinner party as father-to-be Vincent and his partner Anna are invited to dinner by his sister. A group gathers, prepared for an enjoyable and humorous evening. Only, a startling revelation about the name chosen for Vincent and Anna’s expected child explodes into an argument that escalates out of control. Tonight no one is holding back! Egos, childish resentment and unspoken feelings are relentlessly and hilariously exposed for the first time.
It’s so refreshing to see a play, and a comedy no less, take to the stage. We’re so used to seeing musicals at the Alhambra Theatre so it’s fantastic for a new piece of theatre to achieve such widespread appeal.
Catch What’s In A Name? at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, from 9th – 11th April.
