It ran in the West End for almost thee years and won an Olivier, Tony and Grammy award! Now the hit musical is back on the road and coming to the Alhambra this March.
The show tells the inspiring true story of Carole King’s rise to stardom, including how she worked with fellow songwriters and then struck out on her own to become one of the most successful solo acts in music history. The musical includes songs from one of the best-selling albums of all time, Tapestry, and countless classics such as (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, Take Good Care of My Baby, You’ve Got a Friend, So Far Away, It Might as Well Rain Until September, Up on the Roof and The Locomotion.
The new tour will star Daisy Wood-Davis as Carole and Adam Gillian as Gerry Goffin, Carole’s husband and song-writing partner. Daisy has previously has parts in Hollyoaks, EastEnders and Holby City, while also performing leading roles in many theatrical productions.
Adam Gillian is a little less soap-star, and a little more musical. He has appeared in Hadestown at the National Theatre following his training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
The show also stars Laura Baldwin, Cameron Sharp, Susie Fenwick and Oliver Boot, plus a host of other performers forming a large ensemble.
