We Will Rock You comes to town!

The smash hit Queen and Ben Elton musical, We Will Rock You, is coming to Bradford Alhambra next year. Following a world arena tour, it’s back in a ‘reimagined’ form – so whether you’ve seen the show before or you’re brand new to the Jukebox musical you’ll be in for a fresh surprise.

The show is rocking its way to Bradford Alhambra in 2020 – treating Yorkshire theatre-goers to the legendary songs of Queen.

The reimagined version of the show seems a little vague, but with so long to go until the actual tour begins it’s fair enough that details haven’t been announced. What is certain, however, is the show will deliver 24 of Queen’s biggest hits all wrapped up amongst Ben Elton’s futuristic comedy writing.

It’s worth pointing out that I really don’t like Jukebox musicals – they’re annoying and a weird kind of tribute act without any of the benefits of a tribute act. However, We Will Rock You is set to be a musical spectacular, promising an awe-inspiring production.

It’s going to be a popular show, that’s for sure. Since 2002 over 15 million theatregoers in 17 countries have seen the show, and it was performed 4,600 times during its 12-year run at London’s Dominion Theatre. Hot on the heels of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody’s exceptional success, I reckon tickets will be selling out pretty soon.

The show even has the stamp of approval from screen icon Robert De Niro and his company Tribeca, becoming American partners after attending the original workshop. Hey, if it’s good enough for De Niro, it’ll be good enough for me.

Keep an eye out on the Bradford Alhambra website for more news about the show!
