Let me tell you a secret…

York Theatre Royal’s summer family show is going to be magical. Look out for The Secret Garden, plus a programme of exciting activities offering youngsters chance to explore and play in the theatre’s Secret Studio Garden.

The fantastic book by Frances Hodgson is being adapted for the stage by Jessica Swale. The show will tell the tale of the lonely Mary Lennox, who is sent to live with her uncle in Yorkshire when her aristocratic parents die. Turns out Yorkshire’s more magical than Mary could ever imagine (though we already knew that, didn’t we?)

Director Liz Stevenson, associate director at Keswick Theatre by the Lake, said:
“I am thrilled that our production of The Secret Garden will be coming to York Theatre Royal. It was a wonderful experience making the show in Keswick last Christmas, and to see how the audience took the story to their hearts. It feels particularly special to now be bringing it to Yorkshire.”

Get your tickets by visiting the York Theatre Royal website.  The show runs from 27th July to 25th August.
