Art brings an all-star cast to the Leeds Grand Theatre stage

Art is an Olivier, Tony and Moliere award-winning comedy concerning three long-time friends – Serge, Marc and Yvan. When Serge buys an expensive, completely white painting, Marc’s outspoken opinion on what constitutes ‘art’ puts strain on the pair’s friendship while poor Yvan is caught in the middle.

Written by Yasmina Reza, this latest show is directed by Ellie Jones and produced by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.

Now onto the starring cast… The incredible Nigel Havers, Denis Lawson and Stephen Tompkinson are set to star in Art – what an absolute treat! All three are highly well-known, critically acclaimed actors so it will be fantastic to see all three take to the stage.

Nigel Havers is perhaps more traditionally known for his role in Chariots of Fire, though I know him best for his ace performance as Lewis Archer in Corrie. Same with Stephen Tompkinson – he’s starred in shows such as DCI Banks and Wild At Heart, but I know him best from Trollied. You’ll know Denis Lawson from his roles in Bleak House and New Tricks.

All three are very talented indeed, with expert comic timing. They’ll no doubt have the audience eating out of the palms of their hands.

Catch Art at Leeds Grand Theatre from 3rd to 7th April.
