It’s gorgeous interior and decorative features makes Leeds Grand Theatre one of the most glorious cultural institutions in the city.
From February – June 2018, Leeds Town Hall is showcasing a variety of images to highlight some of the great institutions we have in Leeds. Including Hyde Park Picture House and Opera North, there will be over 20 images of Leeds Grand Theatre, which is a Grade II* listed building.
The theatre was built in 1878, anĀ intriguing mix of Romanesque and Victorian Gothic styles. It was a major milestone in Victorian design and was considered on par with leading London Theatres. The theatre has continued to go from strength-to-strength and has welcomed countless West End and touring productions to its stage. It really is a venue the city can be proud of.
